These Hands: An American Family Story is more than a collection of six songs from the Blue Wave Revival Band. It is the story of a family. Where they came from, what they carried with them, the sacrifices they made, and the life they helped build in America.

The album begins with “Mama Packed the Suitcase,” a story about leaving behind the familiar and taking a chance on something better. From there, “Las Vegas, We Built You Together” tells the story of immigrants and working families whose labor helped turn Las Vegas into the city we know today.

My Father’s Working Hands” brings the story closer to home, honoring a generation of fathers who didn't always talk much about sacrifice but showed their love through long days, hard work, and providing for their families. “Two Languages at the Kitchen Table” moves inside the family home, where two languages, two cultures, old traditions, and a new American life meet around the same table.

Then comes “These Hands Built America,” where one family's story becomes part of a much larger American story. America wasn't built by one kind of person or one generation. It was built by millions of working hands — immigrant hands, native-born hands, young hands, old hands, and the hands of people who simply wanted their children to have a better life.

The album closes with “Still Building America,” because that story isn't finished. Every generation adds another chapter. These songs are personal, but they aren't only about one family. They're for every family that packed a suitcase, crossed a border or an ocean, worked the jobs that needed doing, kept their traditions alive, raised their children, and eventually looked around and realized: We didn't just come to America. We helped build it.
