Partner With The War Followed Me Home Initiative
Together, we may be able to reach a veteran who needs to know they're not alone.
I didn't create The War Followed Me Home Initiative to sell music, make money, or build a name for myself.
I created it because I'm a Vietnam veteran who knows firsthand that some wars don't end when you come home. I've lived with memories, PTSD, and depression for many years, and I know there are other veterans out there carrying struggles that most people will never see or fully understand.
Sometimes the hardest part isn't remembering what happened. It's feeling like nobody else understands what you're going through.
That's why I started putting my experiences into words and music. Not because I believe a song can cure PTSD or make depression disappear. I know it can't. But I do believe that hearing someone put your feelings into words can bring a little comfort, start a conversation, or remind you that you're not facing everything alone.
And that's where I hope you might help.
The Music Is Free. The Mission Is What Matters.
Every song connected to this Initiative is free to listen to, download, and share. My goal is to get this music into the hands—and ears—of veterans who might benefit from hearing it.
I'm reaching out to veteran service organizations, VA programs, mental-health professionals, suicide-prevention organizations, hospitals, nonprofit groups, community organizations, media outlets, music companies, and anyone else who believes these stories might help make a difference.
You don't need a large organization, a big budget, or a complicated partnership agreement to help.
Sometimes the simplest things can have the greatest impact.
There Are Many Ways We Can Work Together
Maybe your organization could share our music with the veterans you serve. Perhaps you could place information about the Initiative in a waiting room, veterans center, counseling office, or community facility, wherever permission is granted.
Maybe you could help distribute free CDs or printed materials, include a link in your newsletter, mention the Initiative on your website, or introduce our music to listeners through radio, podcasts, or social media.
And if you're a business or organization interested in providing financial or in-kind support, that could help us produce and distribute CDs, printed materials, and other resources to veterans at no cost.
But please understand something important: I'm not simply asking for money. I'm asking for help getting the message to the people who need to hear it.
If you have another idea, I'd genuinely love to hear it. I'm open to finding ways we can work together.
Why This Matters So Much to Me
At this stage of my life, I've come to realize that what matters most isn't how many people know my name or how many times a song gets played.
It's whether something I've written might help another person.
Somewhere tonight, there may be a veteran sitting alone, remembering things they'd rather forget, struggling with depression, or wondering if anyone could possibly understand what they're feeling.
I can't promise that my music will change that person's life.
But I hope it might remind them that someone understands, that their life matters, and that support is available.
Maybe they'll listen to another song. Maybe they'll reach out to an old friend, a family member, or someone who can help.
And maybe, just maybe, that one connection will make tomorrow a little easier.
That's why I created The War Followed Me Home Initiative.
