When I started Blue Wave Revival, I never imagined that the memories and experiences I've carried for so many years might someday become music that could reach other veterans.
As a Vietnam veteran who has lived with PTSD, depression, and the memories of war, I know firsthand how difficult some nights can be. I also know what it means to hear something that reminds you someone else understands what you're going through.
That's why I created The War Followed Me Home Initiative. My hope is to use music and personal storytelling to reach veterans who may be struggling, remind them that they haven't been forgotten, and encourage them to reach out when they need help.
And that's where your support can make a difference.
All Blue Wave Revival music is free to listen to, download, and share, and I intend to keep it that way. If you'd like to leave a tip, your generosity can help cover the costs of creating and producing new recordings, maintaining the website, and developing materials to help spread the word about the Initiative.
As resources allow, I'd also like to make more of this music available through CDs, printed materials, and outreach to VA facilities, veterans organizations, and others who work directly with veterans.
I'm not asking anyone to give more than they can afford. And if you're unable to contribute financially, please know that sharing a song, telling another veteran about the Initiative, or passing our website along to someone who might need it is just as welcome.
At this stage of my life, I'm not looking for fame or fortune. I simply want to do something meaningful with the years and experiences I've been given.
Maybe somewhere tonight, a veteran is sitting alone, struggling with memories or feelings that are difficult to explain. If one of my songs helps that person feel understood, or encourages them to reach out to someone who can help, then every hour I've spent writing has been worthwhile.
